So today I attempted to install on my arch Linux Claude Desktop. The main reason was to be able to try out the relatively new MCP features of claude.
So after a quick google it turns out this can be done via this AUR package: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/claude-desktop-bin However I got an error about missing asar
. After a quick poking around all that needed to be done was: npm i -g asar
et volia, the package installs fine!
Next step configuring node mcps with nvm installed!
